Finding Local Beauty in My Travels
Lately my explorations have been limited and closer to home, but that has not limited my spirit of Adventure!
Today is my Day #32. 32 days of being grounded at home and watching the World’s shutdowns unfold. I know for many people it has been much longer and I don’t know how you guys are doing it! Like a lot of people, I have tried to be productive. I’ve watched and finished numerous Netflix titles, I redid all of my flower garden beds, I’ve hiked several trails, and I have taken up the hobby of wood whittling. (Haha, yes really)

Last week I spent a day hiking in the fresh mountain air of the nearby Chattahoochee National Forest. What a treat for the soul and the senses! A silver lining to the shutdowns occurring during the most beautiful Spring season I’ve ever experienced in Georgia. The weather has been beautiful, highs around 70 degrees most days!
One of the trails led me to two waterfalls, Angel Falls and Panther Falls (pictured below).
Over this past weekend I watched Warren Buffet announce that he had sold all of his shares in US airlines... But as I sit here this morning watching the markets, I see the trend has not changed as much as I feared.
I also see in today’s headlines that the TSA is seeing an uptick in passengers moving through US airports. Several European cities are showing fewer cases of the corona-virus and passes of being reopened are starting. This gives me hope for the travel and airline industry and I will continue to cheer for a return to when we could hop on a plane sans-masks and gloves and head anywhere in search of adventure!
Living in the State of Georgia, here things are already beginning to reopen in phases and I have a week of local hikes and adventures planned, so stay tuned! And those trips that I had planned and are now postponed to France, Croatia and Sweden, those are being planned and researched even further and I cannot wait to get there and explore. My next few weeks will be the research and development phase for future fun!
