A Saturday in Stuttgart
Plot Twist - Stuttgart Adventure on Saturday
One of the interesting things about working as a flight attendant is that some days I have no clue where I’ll be headed… Take today for instance, I was sitting at home scheduled as “standby” unsure what I’d type of trip, if any I’d be assigned. I requested Los Angeles but instead, I was notified I’ll be heading to Germany, Nicht Schlect!
This trip is my 2nd time to the city of Stuttgart. I was just here last month and explored the Christmas markets - which were fabulous! But what else is there to do in town? Fortunately two other FA’s who fly this trip all the time invited me out with them and after waiting out some rain, we ventured out into the city. My new friend Kelli showed me a great little store to buy good supplements, makeup and stockings, while Alex knew all the spots for tasty bites and beer. I love learning the best places to frequent and eat in all of these random cities!
A little shopping, picture snapping and schnitzel later, I decided I wanted to look around on my own. I remembered my very 1st time in Stuttgart seeing an ad for the Porsche Museum… So I ventured off in that direction.
Now unfortunately I got to the museum a little late in the day and since they close at 6pm I didn't have much time. But what an impressive facility! The cars are obviously the highlight here, but the architecture and design are also sleek and eye-catching.
And now for the drumroll…. I learned you can actually rent a Porsche for a few hours to test drive locally. It’s called the Porsche Drive. How cool! Now I know I don’t live far from The Atlanta Porsche Experience, however that’s on a track and far less cool than it would be to rent a Porsche and drive around the German country side! Alas, I leave tomorrow and because this is such a cool activity, they are booked quite a bit in advance so I will have to wait until my next trip here to rent one. But rest assured in the coming weeks I will return and that pretty little 911 Carrera S Coupe and I are going to get acquainted! So after speaking with a gentleman at the reservation desk, I took the brochure and turned to to walk away, but not before giving him my best Arnold impression, “I’ll be back”.
